Select your financial year-end to see when your accounts, audit, tax return and MBR filing fall due.

Financial year-end

31 Dec 2025
Financial year-end
Your accounting reference date. The whole cycle runs from here.
31 Mar 2026
Begin audit and prepare accounts
A sensible window to start, while the year is still fresh.
30 Sept 2026
Corporate income tax return
Nine months after year-end for a manual return. Electronic filing extends this by roughly two months, but the payment date does not move.
31 Oct 2026
Approve accounts in general meeting
Private company: within ten months of year-end. Public company: seven months.
12 Dec 2026
File accounts with the Malta Business Registry
Within 42 days of the end of the ten-month period allowed for laying the accounts.

Indicative dates for a private company under the Companies Act (Cap. 386). Your annual return is separate: it is made up to the anniversary of incorporation and filed within 42 days of that date, so it does not follow your year-end. Always confirm your own dates with us.
